Sevilla Festival Poster Feria de Abril 1934
Sevilla Festival Poster Feria de Abril 1934
Feria de Abril, 1934
Artist: Francisco Hohenleiter De Castro
Sevilla. 1934.
For several years, the annual spring festival in Seville was announced by the poster competition winner. The 1934 prize went to Francisco Hohenleiter de Castro. Each year, the posters had to stay within a given theme; this year, it was "raza brava" (gallant breed). Hence, the couple proudly show off their regional costumes on a magnificently bedizened horse as they ride to Seville for the fiesta.
Vintage 1934 advertising poster announcing the annual Seville April Fair
which is held in the Andalusian capital in Spain every year.
A tremendous and "typical" Spanish late art deco motif on the Poster - portrays a beautiful young lady overlooking the magnificent Giralda. The Giralda is a lovely bell tower of the Seville Cathedral.
