Besançon SNCF Railway Vintage Travel Poster

This is a reproduction of a Besancon poster that was created for the French PLM railway company. It was illustrated by the prolific poster artist Roger Broders. This version of the poster is a later reprint for the SNCF. The poster reads Besançon – Site Pittoresque, Centre De Tourisme Station Saline, Musées, Horlogerie. The historic town of Besancon is situated close to the Jura Mountains and the border of Switzerland in Eastern France. Roger Broders accomplished image features some of Besançon’s most famous landmarks, including the river Daubs, the Vauban with the 17th century Citadel  of Besançon standing proudly on the hill above the city.
