Cayeux sur Mer. Cayeux-sur-Mer is a French summer resort town on the English Channel about 3.5 hours from Paris on the Chemin de Fer du Nord. Underneath the town’s name here is its amusing English-French nickname, “Brighton-les-Pins”—bestowed in honor of its location directly across from England’s best-known seaside town. Commarmond was a landscape painter from Lyon who specialized in mountain and ocean views. Along with Broders and Soubie, he produced some of the best French railway posters of the 1920s and ‘30s.
