Original vintage travel advertising poster published by the Chemins de Fer de l'Etat / National French Railways to promote tourism to the holiday seaside resort town of Deauville in the Calvados department of Normandy on the Cote Fleurie / Flowery Coast. Stunning aerial illustration by Roger de Valerio (1886-1951) depicting horse racing at the hippodrome with trees in the fields, formal gardens, chateau manor houses and churches, planes flying over the aerodrome airport, yachts in the harbour and trains at the railway station, holidaymakers sunbathing and children playing on the sandy beach dotted with sun umbrellas and beach huts and people swimming in the sea with a ferry and sailing boat on the blue water, the title text in stylised lettering casting a shadow at the top with the word Etat linked three times in green above and Chemins de Fer de l'Etat on a train carriage below.
